Tips and Information

  • Slip-on shoes are highly recommended as you will be walking in and out of the houses all the time. No outdoor shoes to be used inside please.
  • Sunscreen and bug repellent just in case.
  • Earplugs...you never know.
  • Comfortable walking and/or hiking shoes you might use for walking up the road to Mijas Pueblo from us, 45 min or so. Its also  possible to hike up the mountain from Mijas.
  • Work out clothes if a treadmill, wobble machine, stationary bike, weights, bands and a ball are your thing.
  • Your bathing suit :-) We have towels for everything there already.
  • A hat if you'd like
  • Cash if you want to book a massage :-)
  • Floors are a mixture of tile and rugs so slippers if you get cold feet.

YES. We have eight connector boxes placed all around the property so it should be no problem. We are prepared :-) Once you log in to each area individually your cell phone should automatically connect you thereafter.

There is no public transportation near us. Taxis and Uber are available though. Renting a car makes sense if you visit us outside of workshops and want to go down to Fuengirola more often, for the beach, to the restaurants or to shop, or up to Mijas, and/or would like to explore the area before or after a workshop. In the summer an early car reservation is advisable.

The beach in Fuengirola, 7 km long, is in the town below us and is 13 min away by car. Often people carpool. Taxis are also possible and not very expensive.

We have beach towels available and an umbrella even ;-) Please ask for the beach towels rather than bringing  the ones in your bathrooms.<3

  • Taxis from the airport cost around 50€ and take about 25 minutes. We always try to coordinate groups of people on incoming flights, if at all possible, so you can share the ride. Uber is also available and may be cheaper.

  • There is also a train available at the airport to Fuengirola for about 4€ which takes around 40 minutes. As you leave the Arrivals Hall, ahead of you is a ticket office. Continue walking, passing the bus stops and just a little further, you will come to the Train Station (2/3 minutes walk). For more train info, click here. When you arrive in Fuengirola, the town below us, take a Taxi for another ca. 13€ to get up to us.

  • For detailed directions use this link to maps.

In our experience there always seem to be people heading out to shop for whatever so you can often hitch a ride or ask for what you need. Supermarkets like Lidl and Aldi are 8 min away by car. Every other kind of shopping is possible in Fuengirola the town below us. 13 min by car. This is the beach as well. See above info on beach.

HOiY is located in the hills, however it is possible to go out for shorter walks on flatter terrain. It's also nice to walk up to the pretty town of Mijas above us in 45 minutes or so and that is up and downhill. From Mijas Pueblo there is also a trail up into the Mountains. It´s a good 2 hours up and 2 hours back on foot.

  • The Gym: we have a treadmill, a stationary bike, a wobble machine and some free weights and bands and balls. There are also yoga mats available.

  • The Spa. There is a nice sized jacuzzi for 5-6 people and a steam room as well.

  • There are  two massage tables set up. One is indoors and one is outdoors in a netted in area out of the sun as it can get hot! Often there are people who exchange massages.

  • We also have our amazing Hector who we book for 2-3 afternoons. He comes to us and we'll have a sign up list for his 50-minute massages.

We usually cater our meals and the places we use cook vegetarian and or vegan. You just need to please let us know in advance what your needs are. Thank You. Also if you have a cat hair allergy, please.
