The Theatre of Life - Fun, Sun and Inner Exploration Retreat

Our retreat invites you to experience your self "out of the box". It comprises two components. In the theatre element we explore our sponaneity, our capacity to interact with others in the moment, our creativity in defining and filling out a role in a bigger picture we may not fully understand. In the second part, the constellation work, we take a closer look at the often inherited beliefs, programs and blindspots which limit our expression, frame our perception and prevent us from expanding materially, emotionally and spiritually beyond limitations into the full potential which we embody.

The Theatre Experience
Improv theatre is all about trust: trusting the moment, trusting your co-actors, trusting in what happens when you let go of expectations. It brings a glorious playfulness, exploring the moment, fresh and unpredictable. The ground rules are simple:

• say "Yes, and...", wherever the interaction leads
• Play! Be as silly as you want. All is welcome.
• Active listening - really engage in what your co-actor is doing or saying.
• Enjoy to fail. It is actually impossible to make mistakes in this game.
• Be a team player. Improv is all about helping each other to be fantastic together. 

This basic technique will be combined with mask-work. Masks have a life of their own and allow one to find spaces within that might have felt forbidden or unknown. It brings you into the body and out of the mind - and it is heaps of fun! Pairing this with constellation work will help you to explore possibilities that previously might have been scary or unknown. 

Constellation Work: How Energies become visible

Constellation work today reaches far beyond what used to be known as "family constellation". It encompasses every aspect of life, every aspect of our personality and our hidden Self, no matter what their origin may be. Setting up a - big or small - "life issue" as a constellation allows a "look behind the scenes", and thus helps us to become aware of energies which run our lives on a mostly unconscious level. It often opens up feelings we can finally feel, express and release, and leads us to actions which are overdue to be taken. Step by step we regain our capacity to feel, create and interact "outside of the box".

Structure/Organization/Prices

This is a six day/seven nights retreat, with one (probably half) free day in between, starting on Oct 21st in the evening (arrival 3 pm - 7 pm if possible), and ending on the Oct 27th evening. We will have a morning and an evening session each day which will give you time to rest, enjoy the pool or go for a walk, visit Mijas Pueblo and Fuengirola after lunch. You could stay on for up to three more days (also spontaneously) if you want more time to integrate or explore the area. Food will be vegetarian, professionally catered. 

House of Inquiry operates on a donation basis, thus in the following we give you our suggestions in order to cover our costs. Full board/dormitory (three beds, shared bathroom):  € 735, full board/double room (attached bathroom): € 875, full board/single room (attached bathroom): € 1100. Please finalize your registration and secure your spot by paying a deposit of 40% of the suggested workshop fee, according to your first choice of accommodation. Your place is guaranteed once we have received your deposit payment. The deposit is non-refundable but 80% of it will be credited towards a future stay at HOiY if it turns out that you are unable to attend this time.
